Oyetola Visits Olubadan, Assures Commitment to National Development
The Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, today, Thursday 5th March 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at the monarch’s palace in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to the press statement released by the Special Adviser to the Honourable Minister, Dr. Bolaji Akinola; the visit engaged in a wide-ranging discussions centred on national development, purposeful leadership and the sustained progress of the South-West region; and also pay homage to the revered traditional ruler and elder statesman.
Dr Oyetola used the occasion to express his appreciation for the royal father’s enduring contributions to peace, unity and political stability in Ibadanland and beyond. He acknowledged the Olubadan’s steady influence as a pillar of wisdom and continuity within the region’s traditional and civic landscape.
In his response, Oba Ladoja warmly received the Minister and commended his record of service to the nation, particularly in his present role spearheading the advancement of Nigeria’s marine and blue economy sector. The monarch offered words of encouragement for the Minister’s ongoing efforts to unlock the vast potential of the country’s maritime resources for economic growth and job creation.
The meeting underscored the enduring partnership between traditional institutions and public office holders, reinforcing their shared responsibility in promoting development, strengthening community bonds and safeguarding regional stability.
