DC Miko Hails the Outgoing Leadership of COWA PTML Chapter, Pledge Continuous Management Support

The newly appointed Customs Area Controller of the Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited (Ptml) Command, Deputy Comptroller N.I Miko, has commended the leadership of COWA PTML Chapter, under the leadership of Mrs. Ifeoluwa Anani, for the outstanding projects executed during her tenure.

He said he was delighted to witness the taking over ceremony of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association, PTML Chapter; an event marked not just as a change of leadership, but a celebration of continuity, service, and the invaluable contributions of the wives to the Nigeria Customs Service family.

” Beyond these projects, I must acknowledge and appreciate COWA for what I consider your most critical role: that is, taking care of the home front. While we officers are engaged in the discharge of our statutory duties of revenue collection, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling, you ensure that our homes remain stable, peaceful, and productive. A stable home is the foundation of effective service delivery, and for that, we remain grateful”, he said.

As he congratulates the newly appointed leader, Hajiya Nabila Nura Miko, he urges her to build on the solid foundation laid by her predecessor and take the Chapter to greater heights.

“On behalf of the officers and men of PTML Command, I assure COWA PTML Chapter that we will always support your activities. The Command recognizes COWA as a strategic partner in promoting the welfare of officers and their families. Whatever support is required within our capacity – be it logistics, venue, or moral support – will be readily provided” he added.

Miko also seized the opportunity to thank the COWA National President, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, for her visionary leadership that continues to strengthen all chapters nationwide.” Her guidance is felt all over the service”.

Responding at the taking over ceremony, Hajiya Nabila Nura Miko, thanked her predecessor, Mrs. Ifeoluwa Anani, for her dedication and the solid foundation she has laid for this Chapter in the way she served with passion and integrity, noting that the impact of her tenure is visible across all their programmes.

“It is with deep humility and a strong sense of responsibility that I accept this mantle of leadership. “I also wish to sincerely continue and I am committed to building on the achievements and successes of her administration while also breaking new ground for the promotion of COWA objectives and the enhancement of the welfare of Customs officers’ wives.

She expressed profound gratitude to the COWA National President, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, stating that “Her guidance and sterling leadership qualities have been of immense support to the Customs Officers’ Wives Association nationwide. Her encouragement in keeping COWA members motivated is second to none. Under her visionary leadership, COWA continues to thrive as a beacon of empowerment, welfare, and service”.

Nabila also listed some of the impactful programmes she plans to execute, which includes: International Women’s Day Celebration, Sensitization Workshop – “COWA Healthy Wife, Wealthy Life” Breast Cancer Awareness Programme, End of Year Outreach, Participation in Green Border Initiative School Adoption and Environmental Sensitization Lecture.

“These achievements set a high standard, and I pledge to sustain this momentum. In line with the National Headquarters’ agenda, my administration will prioritize three key areas: Welfare: Strengthening support systems for wives of officers, especially during challenging times. Empowerment: Expanding skills acquisition and financial independence programmes for members. Community Service: Deepening our impact through health, education, and environmental initiatives”, she reaffirms.

She therefore solicits the cooperation, prayers, and support of every member of COWA PTML Chapter, the Command Management, and all respective stakeholders; insisting that “Together, we will move this Chapter to greater heights”.
